Moving Out Of the Big Apple

I’ve met a lot of people who think I’m out of mind for moving out of New York, the city of dreams for many wide-eyed young professionals. Don’t get me wrong, I love the city—but there’s something about California that attracts people who are so used to the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple.

When my wife Alice talked to me about moving to San Francisco, I did not hesitate about it. The next step for me was to make sure I tied up loose ends before I left NYC. There were many opportunities for me to build a career in the place I call my hometown but being in the IT business, it’s best to be in California, the industry’s breeding ground. My project-based work also allows me to pursue various passion projects that I hope will also take off. It’s not so common to be working with your own free time in New York. But here in Cali, I’ve met a lot of people who have the same job setup as I do.

I’m the type of person who is constantly on the lookout for new experiences. Thankfully, I have my wife to help me navigate the bright state of California. Living here gave me a new perspective about my work and opened me up to IT firms who might need my services.
