The information technology industry is a place of constant evolution and advancement. Players in this field must be able to cope with the ever-changing milieu and be able to adapt accordingly. Being on top of the game does not only mean having the most current tech available on hand but also being able to predict new and upcoming technologies that will help them remain as top dogs in the competition. Below are some of the emerging techs that can potentially change the entire IT game:
Fog computing
In this age, the most popular way to back up files and data is through the cloud. The user sends his files to a data center in a ‘distant’ place where his records are kept. Fog computing, meanwhile, creates an information storage which is more accessible to the users because it will be established in a proximate geographical location. Fog computing will move the cloud and place it on the edge of everyone’s devices.

Homomorphic encryption
The cloud is the go-to choice for users who want to store data, apart from their computer’s storage facility. However, it is apparently vulnerable to hacking and identity theft. Users would first need to encrypt their data before storing them on the cloud. Unfortunately, encrypted files cannot be searched or categorized. With the use of homomorphic encryption, files can now be searched or categorized even if they remain in an encrypted state.
